Do you run into any Energy problems at all with your Thumper build?

So your pet targets one person while you target another...? Never seen that work. Whomever Im targeting thats where my pet goes. If somebody runs, how can you put your pet on him, and attack a different enemy? And I take it you never ever get hit, since you dont have a heal or way to avoid damage? Im only asking, as Id like to make more use of my pet.

Yes it seems like you lack self heals.

Lacking self heals in PvP isn't a problem, as you should have a dedicated healer anyway.

my pet build for pvp is
10+3+1 beastmastery
9+1 marksmanship
7+1 expertise (8+1 isn't needed as I'm using mostly skills for 5 mana)
10 smiting prayers

druids set, flatbow of entchanting

and I'm using distracting shot (optional)/ disrupting lung/ ferocious strike/ call of haste/ balthasar's aura/ charm, comfort and res-signet

disrupting lung+CoH is the best u can do on a pet build in my opinion and the other stuff adds a lot of damage (balthasar's aura deals 20 damage per sec for a duration of 12 sec which is 240 aoe damage )

The hammer-pet-build is the only one I've seen in GvG or tombs besides barrage builds, although i think my build wouldn't do that bad with the right team

another build I've been having fun with in pvp is

12+2 marksmanship
10+1+3 beastmastery
8+1 expertise

druids set, sundering hornedbow of fortitude

penetrating shot/ read the wind/ tiger's fury/ ruthless strike/ ferocious strike/ charm, comfort and res-signet

this is doing a lot of damage on single targets. it is about spamming penetrating shot with rtw and tf on while constantly adding great damage with ferocious and ruthless strike when enemies health goes <50%.
penetaring deals up to 107 damage while normal attacks do 50-65 and ferocious is about ~60 and ruthless strike does ~80 damage. even warriors get killed quick with that.

I know what Ferocious Strike does. I run a similar Thumper Build, but I kick Expertise up to 9 or 8 and drop BM down to 14, IIRC. On my build, I tend to spam Irresistable Blow and keep Tiger's Fury up at all times (and keep CoH on my pet too). To clarifiy my original question then, can you keep TF up at all times, and have IB spammage capability?

unless the person my pet is hitting is dodging, energy isnt really a problem
my tigers fury lasts 11 seconds and ferocious gives me 7 energy every 8 seconds (10 really but the 3 it costs to use the skill)
to answer lordmahal - there is a huge amount of time before your pet changes target, it can get a good 4-5 hits before it goes after the person i switch to

Is there a way to choose what type of wolf you have with your PvP character? If not, what kind does it automatically give you?

Seems like it should give you dire but I don't know...

I belive that the default PvP pet is a Elder Wolf. Regardless, it's not Aggresive or Hearty, so it does normal damage.
